Introduction

The Rite of Christian Initiation for children is a program offered to families of children not baptized as infants, who have attained the use of reason and are of catechetical age (Seven years old or older). This process invites children to experience God through Jesus within the Christian tradition and the church community.

Children will prepare to receive the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation). They are supported during their time of preparation by the parish community who welcomes them in their desire to become a member of the Roman Catholic Church. As is the case for those preparing and 1st Reconciliation, the Rite of Christian Initiation for Children is a two year process.
